The destination

Italy is usually chartered as distinct coasts rather than one continuous cruise. The Amalfi Coast and Capri favour shorter hops between cliff towns and island stops, with tender access often mattering as much as the overnight berth. Sardinia's Costa Smeralda and the La Maddalena archipelago are a different proposition: granite shoreline, clear water and protected anchorages, typically planned as their own week. Combining Amalfi and Sardinia in one trip is possible, but it needs time and a realistic transfer plan; a week on one coast, or a fortnight if you want both, is the more honest brief. Peak summer is busy in the obvious harbours; shoulder months give more flexibility on berths. We match the yacht to the coastline - what works off Capri is not always what you want in the Maddalena.
